Favorite Projects

  Designing custom pieces for collectors is one of my favorite challenges in my job as a jeweler. I love when I can match the jewelry to the clients individual style. Judith is one of those collectors that has a definite modern style to her tastes in jewelry. She came in to the showroom with a diamond that belonged to her mother and a small bag of assorted pebbles that were from her childhood home in England. She wanted them incorporated into a bracelet. After selecting some of the most unique pebbles I began arranging them with the diamond and sketching the design elements of the piece. The stones would be bezel set on a rectangle of sterling silver that would form the top of a modern shaped cuff bracelet. The finished product was perfect for Judith’s look and had a huge sentimental value to her.

New Showroom

  It has been a busy 3 months at the new store. We moved in before the Christmas season and it has been non-stop since. The showroom turned out just as I had imagined with the help of my nephew's contracting company, Wilburn Construction. Justin made a pair of custom display cases that are the centerpiece of the store and I love how they offer a different view of my jewelry.

  Setting up my new studio was the biggest task of the move. It was very exciting to design the new studio how I wanted it and have equipment and tools in an ideal layout. After 18 years in the jewelry business I have the ultimate studio and enjoy the inspiration it brings me. The other benefit from the new store is that my studio assistant Sheila, our blue healer, gets to come to work with me.

New Gem Stones

My gem dealer came to the shop last week and I was able to purchase some new and exciting gems. I see them and can picture the piece of jewelry that they will become a part of, the stone itself influencing the concept. Some of them are being pre-sold for custom projects.
